Last year I was introduced to the concept of the Halloween cover set. A band will learn a bunch of half baked covers from one artist and play a show as that band to celebrate the greatest of holidays. Last year I was lucky enough to play in a WEEN Tribute. This year The Facc-Tones will be playing a show on Friday, October 27th in Rams' basement as Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of my all-time favorites. John Fogerty is a musical hero of mine, so expect us to approach this material with a great deal of irreverance. There will also be performances by Sound Down Cellar as Velvet Underground and Big Jon & the Mattress Factory as an artist to be announced! Contact us directly for information on how to get to the show. Oh yeah, and the Freedom Brothers will be playing some WEEN again on the 30th at ZuZu, details can be found below.
October 3rd: I've mentioned it a couple of times, but it's finally happening. Our new friends The Deep State invited us to perform with them at the Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain. Kid Gulliver will also be joining us. We love playing the Midway and plan on delivering a balls out jamming set including some CCR in preparation for our Halloween performance.
Check out the Facebook Event for more details
October 27th: The Facc-Tones are becoming CCR for one night only down in the Mattress Factory basement. Contact us directly for an address.
This weekend on October 1st I'll be playing guitar with Audible Crayons at Ralph's Diner opening for Chuck Mosley, one of the original frontmen for Faith No More. I'm a big fan of his work, so this is an amazing opportunity to hang with a killer musician and play some tunes! Advanced tickets are still available for purchase. If you can't make it out to the armpit of Massachussets, you can check us out Friday night September 29th on The Underbelly with DAve Crespo or at Boston Uncommon Music Festival on October 7th in the Boston Commons!
I'd previously mentioned a show in December with the Freedom Brothers, the only WEEN Tribute band on earth that wouldn't make the Deaner puke. Well that fell though, but now we're playing ZuZu (part of the Middle East club complex) on October 30th. I don't have any details yet, but our leader Mariam of Bong Wish doesn't mess around, so I'm sure it'll be all killer, no filler.
And finally the MOONMUSICA collective led by drummer Michael Redmond will be back at the Outpost Gallery in Inman SQ on Saturday, October 14th for our first of three monthly performances. There's no telling what the heck you'll be hearing, because we don't know either!
